shopping fun
This is a picture of Dennis napping on a sofa outside Sears at the Galleria. We were waiting on Gran to get her business finished up at the cell phone store, and we exhausted the toy store supply. I persuaded him to nap by cuddling him in my lap and putting a hand over the ear that wasn't against my chest so that I could block out the noise that was bothering him (lots of bells and pings from the nearby arcade). It helped that he was already pretty sleepy!
We had fun at the Lego store there. Dennis wasn't at all shy. He saw a bin of hats and walked up to the counter and said "excuse me, could you help me find the heads and bodies, please?". She came and showed him where they were and he happily built a "marching band guy". Then he said "this man needs a drum" and though I told him there weren't any, he walked back to the counter and said "excuse me--do you have any drums?". When she told him they didn't, he just said "okay" and walked back. I love that he knows who to ask to get his problems solved!
Today in his science class: floating versus sinking! He says he had great fun. In his regular class today they talked about manners, so tonight I was both pleased and amused when he suddenly said at dinner "excuse me, ladies, I need to go to the restroom!". Hooray for preschool for reinforcing our manners training!
