McWane Monday
We had a fabulous time with Gran and Pop today at the McWane Center. Dennis must be a bit psychic because he woke me up with his Mr. Potato Head this morning, saying "look, I made a Picasso potato!", which is indeed what it looked like. One of the featured exhibits at McWane now is a big Mr. Potato Head exhibit (until Sunday, when it leaves). We didn't tell him beforehand, and he hasn't played with his potato heads in a few months. Weird. He also asked me if we were going to see the Veggie Tales today, strange because I got an email from Jennifer about their upcoming visit to her church, but I never said a word about it. So he's really in tune with my brain, or he's reading my email and checking my web browser history (in which case, I'll be congratulating his computer teachers on their fast work--he's only been twice!).
We petted sharks and stingrays, played paleontologist on a dinosaur dig, touched a tornado, played with all manor of potato head accessories, learned about pulleys and air displacement, played 'brain ball' where we wore electrodes on our foreheads and used brain waves to push a ball back and forth... We saw fish and reptiles, and when I told Dennis to come and see the bugs, he said "you mean INSECTS, Mom". Indeed I did. We channeled our inner nerds for over 3 hours and had so much fun!
