pledge

Do you know how cute a three-year-old sounds when saying the pledge of allegiance? Wow! We taught it to him this past week in preparation for school starting. So adorable!

His funny quote of the day: I was changing his bedsheets and he told me not to put the clean ones on the bed. He said "leave the sheets off, Mommy, don't make the bed". I asked why and he said "I don't need to have a place to sleep". He knew naptime was coming quickly and this was a new and inventive way to try and get out of both nap and bedtimes!

He and Chloe played together today and had a few little issues. She teased him about taking him to jail and chased him with his handcuffs, but this was absolutely not funny to him (even though he'd just threatened to put all of us in jail). He hit her with a toy car in his stay-out-of-jail panic. And when she cuffed his chair and took it to jail, it freaked him out so much that he hit her with his bedroom door trying to escape. I've not seen him get so upset over something since he caught a glimpse of the abominable snowman on the Rudolph Christmas cartoon and hid from the television. Jail is not something to joke with Dennis about! And now we have all learned that particular lesson.
