Man Day 2010
Dennis knew it was Man Day, so he didn't have all that much to do with me this morning. He kept saying "Mommy is not coming with us because it is Man Day, right Daddy?". David took him to the Southern Museum of Flight today and they had the kids' room completely to themselves for nearly an hour while they constructed Lego airports and runways and planes and helicopters. They lunched together and then shopped at the Galleria mall, where there is a Lego store. There are also two toy stores on site, and he was one happy little escalator-riding guy. He apparently preferred the escalator over the carousel (so David saved a couple of bucks), and when it was time to leave and head home, Dennis loudly announced that he did NOT want to go and see his Mommy. He wanted to shop more. As a matter of fact, he fell asleep on the way home, and much later, when he discovered me in the car with them, he was so mad that he cried. He told me that he wanted to go back to the toy store and not to church. Fortunately, he got over it and was actually fairly well behaved at church. Only one more week of teaching those little guys and then summer session is over. I might actually miss them! The picture shows Dennis and Grace modeling their 'robes' that we made after reading about how the Prodigal Son's father presented him with a beautiful robe and ring and shoes upon his return.
