3 year checkup
We visited the pediatrician today for his checkup, and he's well ahead of his milestones. He's of average height, and above average weight, but we aren't too concerned. He was wearing size 2T shorts today and they fit fine. He's normal sized and well proportioned, but we are going to cut back on his juice intake. He loves the stuff, even though we've always diluted it with water. His teeth will appreciate the new regimen, I'm sure. I was pleased that he enjoyed chatting with the doc about his favorite Dr. Seuss books ("I like to read Two Fish Red Fish Blue Fish" he said and then they talked about several of the other ones). When she asked me if he could pedal a tricycle, he told her "I have a big boy bike". She asked if he wore a helmet every time he rode and he said "yes, helmets protect our heads". He didn't so much enjoy getting his shots, though, so he asked for a sticker. The doc herself got him one and then applied a truly awesome giraffe temporary tattoo to his arm. He is very proud of it.
We spent the rest of our day at the lake with Gran, Ellen, and Chloe. The kids had great fun playing together, and they set up their own restaurant out on the porch where they served Ellen a deluxe pretend meal. Then they made a zoo, moving the chairs around to be animal cages and created what they called a "lockup". It's so much fun to watch creativity running wild!
