After a 10 minute bout of what seemed like constant sneezing, I spent the day reclined and under covers hoping my nose would stop running so profusely. So far it hasn't. I'm rethinking the idea that teaching preschoolers was such a hot idea. Apparently I'm immune to nothing they have! I don't feel all that bad, and I hope it will pass soon.
Dennis was very considerate of me today. He told me he didn't want to get sick again and have to go to the hospital. He told me "that long wooden thing that they stuck way up my nose really really hurt." He was referring to the nasal swab to check for flu, and I assured him that doesn't happen all the time. He was pretty imaginative today, bringing David the jar of peanut butter after he'd told me "I said I wanted a peanut butter and jelly sandwich and a sprite, but no one is making it yet." He held the peanut butter up to his ear and said "I think I hear bees singing in there!".
I went in to his room today and saw that there were Band Aids all over the floor. I wonder if he misunderstood when I told him it was a bamboo floor (and not a boo-boo floor). Who knows? He spent his evening creating lots of Lego scuba divers and was delighted when I made the suggestion that he play with them in his bath tonight. He couldn't wait for his Daddy to get home to see all his creations. He is bathing right now with his divers, several Lego sharks and an octopus, the fire boats he built, and lots of swimming firemen. He couldn't be happier!
