nagging to help

"Mommy, what are you doing--I hate the vacuum cleaner; it makes my ears feel bad.". But he was the first to stretch out on the freshly cleaned rug to play.

"Mommy, will you stop cleaning and play with me?". I did, for a bit, and we played board games (on the clean rug).

"Mommy, you still have some things to clean off the pool table--you're not done."

"Mommy, will you read me a story, fix me a snack, pour me some lemonade..."

"Mommy, this closet is a mess; you need to work on it. And there are still some screws on the pool table. Oh, and can you come and help me find a Lego man helmet for this scuba diver?".

"Mommy, you forgot to put my spoon in the dishwasher."

Wow. I taught him to keep his room clean and created a monster! I ran in circles all day, I think, cleaning and caring for. He asked me for a second supper while I was working out and then sat and watched the workout video and voiced some 'helpful tips' about my own performance ("Mommy, your arms are supposed to be up higher" and things like that). He's just been an all around helpful little darling today. So helpful, in fact, that I'm kind of glad he's gone to sleep!
