party gras

We let the good times roll today! We had a great time at the Prattville Mardi Gras parade. Dennis procured a significant quantity of beads along with some candy and a Moon Pie or two, and he had fun seeing all the floats and horses. After the parade, we headed to the lake house and had our party--good company, delicious food, lots of fun! The girls from next door came over and played in the beads and masks, and Dennis and Chloe spent time playing over at their house with them while the adults hung out (for a short time) in a kid free house! Everyone had fun, and I don't know that I'll need to eat again for a few days.

Dennis acted subdued and sleepy until we were almost back at the lake. At that point, he asked me to play "Rock That Body" (Black-Eyed Peas) on my iPhone. He put on a silver bead necklace, turned his ball cap sideways, used his arms to push down on his carseat armrests, and lifted his bottom up out of his seat so he could shake it for all its worth. He kept this up until we arrived and then went inside to put on his dance show for everyone. He's really got some moves! Someone pointed out that a few of his moves look a good bit like Zumba moves. Perhaps they are. I think we're all learning how much fun it can be to shake our stuff!
