partying at the lake

We headed down to the lake at lunchtime today and Dennis couldn't wait to see Ju-Ju and Steve. He wanted to fish with them AND he wanted to see Uncle Denny. He never got down to the dock to fish (though he did escape from me and get down to the dock to visit), but he did have a nice visit at Uncle Denny's place. We had our fish fry there tonight and Uncle Denny had a houseful of us.

Dennis enjoyed spending time out on the porch with the ladies today and entertained us with about an hour of fake vomit noises (how gross!). We tried to get him to play another game, but he said "no, let's play this game" and would again make a disgusting nausea noise. We presume we have Pop to thank for this.

Now that we're back home, I'm having to get used to the constant car chatter again. He sang to me and then said his nursery rhymes. He now knows 'Jack and Jill' and 'Jack Be Nimble' and 'Mary, Mary Quite Contrary' and 'Humpty Dumpty', and today he was playing with his toes and working on 'This Little Piggy'. He asked me if Jesus was singing the song on the radio and I told him that no, it was a song about Jesus. He said "Okay, Mommy, it sounds like a man singing about God and Jesus on the radio" and I told him he was right. Then he asked 'are we there yet' about 80 times in a row until I started asking it right back to him.
