A friend from Curves (the current owner) got married today, and we took Dennis to the wedding. We talked to him all the way to the church about how he needed to be super quiet during the service. We got there and got inside and found seats in the last row (in case the talking to didn't take effect), and he settled in as much as he could. He whispered commentary while the slide show was going on and everyone was coming in and greeting each other. The lights went down and the music started and things were about to begin. Everyone got quiet, and just then Dennis couldn't stand it anymore. He stood up in his chair and announced loudly "Ladies and Gentlemen..." and I clapped my hand over his mouth before he could say anything more. Laughter filled the auditorium. Some ladies stopped me after the service and asked me what he would have said next and said they wished I hadn't stopped him because it was so cute.
As we were leaving the auditorium just after the wedding was over, he asked me very loudly "Mommy, can I talk NOW?" and I told him he could. Again, laughter was all around us. He was most assuredly the entertainment for us!
