More Mother's Day celebrating went on today: we met up at the lake house today and grilled hamburgers and hot dogs for Gran and Grandma. Allison had the idea to do this, and we had the first swim of the season (though we deemed it still a bit too chilly for Dennis having just recovered from the ear infection and still having a lingering cough). We had the nicest meal together, delicious food, good company, excellent dessert (cake from Edgar's Bakery, Becky's homemade spice cake).
Dennis was a bit wild today. He cavorted around, refusing to eat supper, climbing onto everyone's lap, and he ended up spending long sessions in Time Out. On the way home tonight, he announced "look at all the beautiful stars!" and we took the time to notice the especially gorgeous night sky. Then he said "I sure wish the moon would come out again" and we told him it would. Just before he fell asleep in the car he said "I hope the sun comes up tomorrow!". We did our best to assure him that it will!
