I got a text message this morning while I was at work at Curves asking me if I'd like to have some ice cream from Durbin Farms. While this would have been great, and the club had no one working out at the time, I knew that if I'd said yes, ladies would have come in to work out and I would have felt so bad eating ice cream in front of them. After all, that is my BEFORE picture posted on the back wall, and I am trying to set a good example. Dennis and Gran enjoyed their ice cream and a nice long time at the playground at City Park. Just after I'd turned down the ice cream, Allison called to see if I'd like to meet for lunch at San Marcos. I told her to call Gran and ask if they wanted to, and Gran said that Dennis had just asked if they could eat lunch there. After I got off and Dennis got up from his nap, we did eat there, and Dennis danced in his seat the whole time.
We swam this afternoon at the lake, and I was delighted to see that Dennis remembered all his swim moves. We put him in a life jacket and after bobbing nervously for two or three minutes, his lessons took over and he swam all over the place, loving every second of it. He wanted to 'jump' off the dock, and this mostly involved Allison lowering him by his arms over the side and letting him go when he was almost in the water. We also took an awesome boat ride around to look at the lake, and I loved watching Dennis pick up leaves and let them go, interested to see which way they'd blow in the wind. He stood at the bow of the boat and announced in full pirate voice that he was Captain Dennis and he was in charge of this boat. It's going to be a great summer!
