His new bike is a good bit bigger than his old one! He's grown over an inch in the past month. He's shooting toward adolescence at an alarming rate!
We watched E.T. this morning. This movie turned me into a complete emotional wreck nearly 30 years ago and I haven't watched it since. But this morning David and Dennis were watching it, so I joined them. I held myself together until the very end. That's when Dennis asked "Is Elliot going to miss his new alien friend?". I told him he was, and Dennis burst into tears, crying "and I'm really going to miss Sarah!". I couldn't hold it together any longer. I was sad from the movie, sad from PMS, and sad, too, that Sarah and her family moved away today. Sarah has been a classmate of Dennis' at preschool and in every church class, and her family is so special--we have really bonded with them in the last year. Her brother was going to be in my first preschool class and has been calling me "Mrs. Christi" and giving me hugs for months now. Oh how we'll miss them, and oh how I hurt for Dennis. It's never easy to say goodbye to a good friend.
