lite Dennis day

Gran took Dennis to the lake this morning while I went to a teacher training course, and I hear that he spent hours swimming in the lake with his cousins. I even heard they took the paddle (pedal?) boat out for a run and that Dennis learned to pedal but had to lie down to reach the pedals! He certainly was worn out when we were reunited at lunchtime. It wasn't hard to convince him to take a nap. I left him with David this evening and had some much-treasured alone time shopping out of town. I did bring him a new toothbrush (a Captain America spinbrush since I haven't been able to find a Transformers one), which thrilled him. He and David had a movie party while I was gone, watching Transformers 2 together. Dennis said "oh, Mommy, you missed it! Can we start the movie over, Dad, so Mommy can see it?". He gave me big hugs and kisses as I tucked him in, and he asked "What do you plan to do with me, Mommy?". I told him I planned to love him for many many many years. He told me "I love you so much, even when you're mad, even when I'm crying." What a sweetie! Even though I love all of our time together, it's nice to get a break every once in a while!
