crack attack

We were at the lake today and a friend from church (who happened to be Dennis' VBS teacher last week along with David) came to swim with us. Dennis was thrilled when she arrived but said she would have to bring her daughters next time. We were in the water when Dennis decided he wanted to play kayak. I fetched the float for him along with a noodle, but he climbed out himself and retrieved two actual oars from the boathouse. He poked their ends through the two nylon handles on the floats as if they were actual oar locks on a rowboat. But for all his prep, he wasn't really able to get anywhere.

Sometime during the swim, he became extremely whiny. He looked terribly uncomfortable as he attempted to climb onto a float. He whispered "I'm having a crack attack!", and as his rear end left the water, I saw that his life jacket strap was doing its very best thong impersonation. We loosened it for him and his mood improved significantly! We were driven in by strong winds and thunder, and as we sat on the porch, Dennis served us all ice cream sandwiches. He's becoming quite the little host!
