a wonderful surprise

As most everyone knows, we are rather spectacularly broke these days. David has taken a butcher job at a grocery store just to guarantee us some steady income until something better comes along (which we pray happens very soon). It's sad to be out of money when your child's birthday is coming up soon (though David's first check comes the day before!). We are doing a simple party--he's turning 2 and most likely won't remember it anyway--that won't cost a bunch, only providing cake and ice cream to a few guests. But today a wonderful present was given to us and we can only credit God for providing it. The neighbors at the lake house asked me if I wanted the daughters' used Power Wheels Jeep for free. Of course we did! Dennis loved climbing in and out of it over and over and we pushed him along (since the batteries were not charged). I even have spray paint for plastic at home already in the color red that was original to the jeep. I plan to paint it up and have the batteries all charged for his party. What a blessing. And what a great present to give a 2 year old! We had wanted to buy him one for this birthday all along but knew it was not going to be possible. Thank you, God. Wow!
