what a big boy

He slept all night in his toddler bed and woke up at 6:30 and began playing. It's a little early, yes, but he did great! And he took his morning nap in the toddler bed as well. He didn't do so well in it for the afternoon nap because I had rearranged his room by then and he could see a bunch of toys that he wanted to play with. We eventually had to resort to the crib, which he was not a bit happy about ("want my big boy bed!"). I'm hopeful that the crib will be out of there soon.

Today he was able to tell me where he hurt. He bumped his head and said "my head hurts" and later smashed his fingers and said "hand hurt". This is a new step for him, one that will make diagnosing his ills easier in the coming years. Also, he jumped up for the first time today. He came into my room where I was cleaning and said "watch Dennis jump". Then he jumped, landed, fell onto his bottom, said "great job, Dennis" and then ran back to his toys in the living room. He's been big on the "great job" phrase lately--don't know where he learned it but it's so cute to watch him praise himself!
