We had a fun day in Alabaster today. We shopped at several places and Dennis seemed very happy and content in his stroller. He picked out a few things to carry around, namely a large box of hot chocolate packets that he referred to as "hot chockey". He enjoyed a meal at the Mexican place and was fascinated by the giant star pinatas hanging all over the ceiling. He pointed to one and said "sun?" and I told him it was a star. He immediately replied "twinkle twinkle star".
After the meal that he ate WITH HIS FORK (hooray!!), we shopped at Target and looked at all kinds of toys. He chose a Lights and Sounds Percy train (even though we already have one Percy) and Knapford Station (which talks and identifies the engines and tells them that Sir Topham Hatt needs this or that delivered here or there)--purchases he used his birthday money for. He played with Percy all the way home. And then he played with his Daddy.
I had a little trouble getting him to sleep in the bed last night--he cried and pointed to his crib and said "baby bed" and "want baby bed" over and over. I brought him a couple of matchbox cars to play with in bed, and once he discovered that they fit perfectly along the headboard of his bed, he slept there happily.
