Dennis was quiet and calm for a large part of the day. Except for the time I was on the phone, he played happily by himself. When I was on the phone, however, he wreaked major havoc on the house, crashing down chairs, unloading fragile candlesticks from the buffet, and grabbing the dry erase markers and play-doh and heading for parts unknown. It's a cell phone--I should have been able to follow and normally would have, but the battery was nearly dead and I was plugged in to the wall outlet. Who would have thought I'd need Bluetooth technology to be a stay-at-home mother? It sure would be convenient to have both hands free, though, so perhaps one day I'll buy one of those other-worldly Star Trek looking earpieces.
Last night after we finished eating, Dennis announced "I'm full". We immediately let him get down from his high chair. This is such an improvement over him whining and throwing down his plate, fork, and cup after every meal. And I've realized that nearly everything he says these days is an actual word. Sometimes it takes me a few minutes to decipher the word and his meaning, but he speaks with purpose now. His ideas amaze me!
