Wonderful and insightful church sessions bookended my fabulous Mother's Day this year. In the middle of those, I enjoyed a super awesomely delicious meal prepared by Gigi and served to Gran and me by Dennis (and boy was he adorable carrying plates to the table oh-so-carefully!). Dennis got his first lake swim of the season this afternoon when a gaggle of girls came from next door to fetch him. He had some cold, splashy fun with the neighbor girls and a family from church that we love (with 2 daughters that swam today with Dennis and Laura and Mary Beth). Dennis gets along scarily well with the "older girls"! Gigi gave Dennis his first Decepticon, which thrilled him so much that he took it to church with him tonight to show it to everyone. He was, of course, way too busy to nap today. Even so, we were very surprised when he announced a few minutes ago "I'm ready to go to bed." He meant it, too, and didn't even want a bedtime story!
One of my life goals: to be the kind of mom that MY mom is. What a wonderful, Christian example she always set for us! And she knows how to play and have fun and laugh and be creative... She's the best!
