ice cream celebration

Cheers! He's enjoying a celebratory chocolate ice cream cone at Peach Park after his soccer team's victory this afternoon. It was a particularly hilarious game today because they played it indoors in the gym due to the high wind and chilly weather. The soccer ball moves a good bit faster in the gym than it does on the field! They had to play with a partially deflated ball to have any control over it at all.

This morning, I was brushing Dennis' hair back from his forehead with my fingers and I hit a tangle. He asked me what I had done (because it was "ouchy") and I told him some of his hair was stuck together. He asked "why did my hairs stick together? Do you think it's because they love each other?".

Tonight he's gotten out of bed twice so far with some creative excuses. First he told me "my heart told me it doesn't want to sleep ever again." Just now he came in with a dramatic gesture of pointing to his head, saying "my brain had a really bad thought about bad guys." Our poor little insomniac is going to be so sleepy at preschool tomorrow!
