As I was turning off the lights after putting Dennis to bed, he came out of his room and told me "I need to turn my lamp on because I might get a head fright in the dark." I let him, and now I'm hearing random bellows and giggles from his room.
While David was home for lunch, Dennis came in and said "it's radiant! Radiant means 'hot' so it's a radiant day today." He's right--it was a hot one today! Not only is he learning actual language, but he's also picking up colloquialisms. Today, he decked himself out in his hard hat, SpongeBob backpack, and slung his wooden rifle over his shoulder. He came and struck a pose, then asked "how do you like my sweet costume?". Loved it!
