As I made sure Dennis was buckled into his seatbelt, he told me the following joke: "Why did the chicken cross the playground?" (pause...wherein I replied that I didn't know) "To get to the other slide!". Pretty cute! I'm impressed by his comedic timing, too. Kid knows how to tell a good joke!
He's also getting witty with his replies to our requests. David told him to go and put on his pajamas and he said "sure--as you command, Daddy". I had to cover my mouth to keep from laughing. And earlier this evening, I heard David talking to him seriously about something, and I asked "what did he do?". Dennis heard me asking and yelled out "that's unimportant!!". I guess it was--I never found out what it was that he did.
Today was "Muffins with Moms" day at preschool. Dennis and I shared breakfast with his classmates and their moms for a bit before I headed over to my own class. The kids could tell I wasn't feeling good. Several of them gave me hugs and "I love you, Mrs. Christi"s. How many people have jobs where they get hugged every day?
