busy day accomplished

I checked a lot of activities off the list today. My teaching gig this morning was difficult, but it started off well. It went a little wacko after the watermelon project, but I made it through. Dennis was especially horrible at school today, not listening in class and then earning himself three time outs during playground time (for throwing rocks, pushing, and kicking another kid). I was embarrassed that he behaved so badly!

I got a good bit accomplished at the Vacation Bible School meeting while Dennis played with Grace. And we attended the last soccer practice (last game is tomorrow) before heading over to the church cookout and picnic and then going over to the church for preschool choir practice. We concluded our day at Walmart, and when we got home, Dennis said "whew, this was a REALLY long day, Mama!". He's right--it was! He only had time for about 45 minutes of nap, and he cried when I made him get up so we could get to soccer. I would have felt bad, I think, if he hadn't protested and procrastinated his naptime for 45 minutes. I'll bet he gets some sleep tonight! I hope we both do. Tomorrow is outdoor and water play day at school, and he is very excited. I'm counting down the days. Just two left now, tomorrow and Tuesday (and a closing program this Sunday).

I think I'd like a day with less drama tomorrow!
