Yesterday Dennis said "if I eat too much, I'll grow a tail, right?". I told him he'd be more likely to grow a belly. This morning he came out of the bathroom, hopping, with both legs in one leg of his pajama pants and the empty pant leg dragging behind him as he had the pants on kind of sideways. He told me to check out his tail (the empty pant leg that he was dragging behind him). We had a fun giggle over that.
Dennis and I left the house to start our errands for the day, and when we got to the foot of our driveway, we saw the lady at the house across the street standing on her porch and gesturing wildly. We looked and saw two cows nearly on her porch, loose cows from who knows where. We laughed with her (but didn't get out of the car) and talked about renegade cows for a while in the car and then didn't think any more of it. When we arrived home, we got out of the car and turned to walk into the house when we heard "MOO!". Guess what was standing 10 yards behind our car. I have no idea how I drove past them and didn't notice, but there they were, a black cow with horns and a black and white cow without, VERY large animals. We all stared at each other for a few comical seconds before the cows turned and headed off into our woods (they must have deduced that a butcher lives here). They might still be there. I have been entering and leaving the driveway very carefully the rest of the day! Dennis and I quickly entered the house, and 5 seconds later, so did the dog (he wasn't a big fan of the cows). We've had chickens, deer, and now cows in our driveway. I hope no buffalo live nearby.
