new sport!

Dennis had his first Taekwondo class tonight, a free sample to see if he liked it. He did, indeed, and we've signed him up for a couple of months of it. He learned to bow with respect, to follow instructions, to always say "yes, sir", and to pay attention. He learned punches and kicks, different defense positions, ran an "obstacle course" several times, and swore an oath at the end of class thar he would not use what he learned to do bad (the teacher was very specific about what and who he could not hit or kick and made him repeat a long list!). The highlight for Dennis was breaking a board with his fist. He got to bring the broken board home, and he had to show it off to everyone as we left the gym and to Gran and Pop at their house. He goes back on Thursday and he is very excited about it.
