hidden eggs

Dennis was gifted with 2 Reese's peanut butter eggs last night, and we didn't know that he'd received them, much less that he'd put one in each pocket. He fell asleep in the car, so we just deposited him into bed fully clothed. This morning he climbed into bed with us, and after a half hour of snuggling, he reached into his shorts pocket and pulled out a rather smashed and warm Reese's egg (fortunately it was still contained in its wrapper). He asked if I'd open it for him and David and I both exclaimed over it, feeling bad that we didn't know it was there. We explained that it was a bit warm and would need to firm up a bit, and David got out of bed to put it in the refrigerator. When he'd left the room, Dennis reached into his other pocket and pulled out a second one and said "well, can I eat this one then?". We sent him to the fridge with that one as well. It's just a good lesson in delayed gratification, I think!

We had great fun at the church Easter egg hunt event. David and Dennis are doing a spoon-and-egg walk in the picture. Chloe came down to go to the event with him (along with her Mom and Grandma), and a good time was had by all!
