Today was Goodies with Grandparents day at preschool. Gran and Pop and Gigi came to enjoy some time in Dennis' class this morning. He carefully fixed each of them a plate of cookies, goldfish crackers, and oranges, and poured glasses of water. He was so proud to have them there!
He tried to nap, but David was sawing wood (prompting Dennis to come storming out of his room yelling "stop that sawing right now--it's too loud!"). He instead spent a happy half hour playing with his Play-Doh and rolling pin and cookie cutters at the opposite end of the house from the construction. Then we headed to the lake for supper with our morning companions! Gigi cooked a superb meal that we shared on the screened porch at sunset. Dennis entertained us with his antics, running on "high" for hours at a time today. He fell asleep minutes after the car pulled away from the lake house, stopped in his tracks by sheer exhaustion!
He is apparently moving ahead with his plans to marry Grace. Tonight on the way to the lake he told me that when he was a bride and married Grace, she would wear a white dress and he would wear black and they would get married on a ship. I explained to him that the boys were "grooms, not brides" and we argued the point back and forth for quite a while. He insists they will both be brides because the word 'groom' is just silly. I asked if I could come and he said "yes, but you'll have to wear a white dress and marry Daddy again." Sounds fun to me!
