pumpkin time

Dennis and Chloe sure had fun at the pumpkin patch today! They jumped on the inflatable play structures, rode the tractor train, shopped in the barn, ran around in the hay maze, enjoyed a hay ride and hay climbing, picked out their own pumpkins, and spent time in a giant sandbox. We didn't have much trouble getting them to take naps afterward. The fun continued later when they painted their pumpkins all by themselves. And we capped off our day of fun (and the Daddies finally joined us) with a lovely campfire and marshmallow roast. A good time was had by all.

As I was putting him down for his nap, he said "you know what, Mom? I like to pretend that my small Lego men are real people and they are my friends. There are spacemen and one of them has a shark submarine that goes under the water and around and around and it can even go to other planets". About the planets: he'd most like to go to Mars, he says, because "I bet on Mars there's another Dennis, and he is a Robot Dennis, and we should meet each other".
