no fooling
We were attempting to get Dennis interested in grocery shopping after church let out tonight. He wanted to go to the park and was pretty adamant about it, but it was dark out and we were trying to convince him that it was in fact too dark to climb on playground equipment. I told him he could pick out whatever food he wanted at the grocery store--he could decide on his lunches and dinners and breakfasts. I mentioned that we could even buy waffles. This was my downfall. He said "waffles?" and I said yes and then he said "we can go to Waffle House and have waffles. I don't want to go to the grocery store--I want to go to Waffle House. Let's go to Waffle House!". We grocery shopped anyway, suffering his displeasure at first, but then he got interested in it and pointed out all the foods and told me that we didn't need any of it. Nothing like shopping with your self-appointed personal trainer and life coach.
