Happy Easter fun

We were wakened this morning with a "LOOK WHAT THE EASTER BUNNY BROUGHT US!" yell followed by a happy little guy arriving in our room carrying two baskets of goodies! He said "look at all our candy and goodies!". He gave us our basket after swiping one Tootsie Roll Pop from it and settled in to show me everything he'd gotten. After consuming two of his chocolates, we insisted he needed to eat breakfast and suddenly we were in a whirlwind of church preparations. Dennis had a good time at church and his class was completely packed!

As we were driving, we asked Dennis what he learned at church today and he said so seriously "We learned about God and Jesus. The knights put Jesus way up on a cross, WAY up there." I told him that was right and he said "and Pilate was there, and Jesus got boo-boos on his hands and on his feet, and his head hurt--they hurt Jesus". He told us about an angel coming after Jesus went to sleep on the cross and that he woke up again. And then he said "and now I want to go to the playground." I'm pleased that he has learned so much about the real meaning of Easter this year!

We spent our afternoon at the lake, sharing an Easter feast with Ju-Ju, Steve, Gran, Pop, Dave, Ellen, Chloe, and Chloe's Grandma Diana. When the last bite was taken, we hid eggs for the kids to find, and Laura and Mary Beth Hall came over to hunt the 55 eggs with Dennis and Chloe. A great time was had by all, especially when the Halls' dog Holly found an egg and took off with it! It was a perfect hot and sunny day, and we went for a wagon ride to the marina to buy ice cream, and the kids played and played. We've sure enjoyed Ju-Ju and Steve being here and we will all miss them, most especially Dennis who has said for the past two days "I want to go and play with STEVE!".
