Top Ten Reasons it's fun to parent a nearly 18 month old:
10. He's always glad to see us.
9. He can walk now, which is good since he's heavy.
8. We have an excuse to play with toys.
7. We get lots of kisses, some without lots of slobber!
6. He has learned how to give hugs.
5. Access to a neverending supply of cuteness...
4. There's nothing like the phrase "I Love You" in toddlerspeak.
3. His smile.
2. Night-night time cuddles are so sweet.
1. So much joy in our lives that wasn't there before.
Dennis and I stayed home today and cleaned house in between serious playing sessions. The funniest thing he did? After I pushed him around and around his room in his car, FAST, I got dizzy and had to lie down on the floor for a minute. He stopped the car, opened the door, got out, and walked over to me. Then he reached down and grabbed a handful of my hair with one hand and the front center of my bra in the other (how he found that through my shirt I'll never know) and gave a serious yank to try to get me back up off the floor to push him some more. Since he didn't cause me any pain, I nearly died laughing because it was so unexpected. I'm laughing now just writing about it. He joined me in laughing and then we decided to play something else.
Remember the movie Flashdance (not you, Ellen, you probably weren't born yet...)? That's how Dennis dances, like the Maniac song dance. We spent quite a while pushing the music button on his giraffe ball sorter toy and then dancing like maniacs to it. So I had a good cardio workout today for sure! Maybe I should try and teach him to waltz...

Well, you would be right that I am too young to remember it. I was alive at least, only 3 : )
