Dennis grabbed David's precious Nintendo Wii Guitar today and told me "I going to play some music, Mommy". I hated to stifle any creativity, but I'd also hate to replace one of those guitars, so I took it away from him and told him no. He said "why not, Mommy?" and I had to explain that it was Daddy's guitar and Daddy might not want him to play with it. He said, again, "why not, Mommy?". I called his Gran to report this new development and she warned me that now was the time to begin cultivating the phrase 'because I said so' for when I can't give satisfactory explanations for the things he asks. I feel like I've graduated into a new phase of parenthood.
