passport appointment

Dennis was thrilled to be checked out of school early to go to his appointment to renew his passport today. We had planned to return him to school afterward, but one of the teachers told us that he just had snack left and then lining up to go home. He missed story time, but we took care of that by reading to him. He is again exhausted. While I was busy at work, he ate the centers out of a dozen generic Oreos and was vibrating with sugar overload. He held it together well for Taekwondo and then went to bed early. He told me that he thinks it's probably more exciting to be a kid than to be a dad. He looks forward to being a dad one day, he says, but it won't be as exciting as being a kid.
